TAKING A LOOK BACK…

Although we might be in our infancy in the public eye, Walantanalinany Palingina has been working with members of our community for some years. Members of our current working group have been with us for some time now and through this have had the opportunity to develop their skillsets like Bonnie Harper-Starick and Sinsa Mansell who both reflect on their time and involvement with Walantanalinany Palingina over the years.

My name is Bonnie Harper-Starick. My mum is Tanya Harper and my grandmother is Ella West. I have been involved with Walantanalinany Palingina and Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair program for several years.

I was first invited to exhibit my work and travel to Darwin with seven others for the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair in 2018. The following year I was invited back to exhibit and curate the Walantanalinany Palingina stall.

My name is Sinsa Jo Mansell and I am the co-founder and project manager of Pakana Kanaplila.

I have been fortunate to be supported by Walantanalinany Palingina through Creative Australia and their Arts Chosen program which has allowed me to participate in a vast range of professional opportunities to up-skill and develop myself as an aspiring creative producer and to inform the development of my own creative works.
